Might & Magic 6 was a family game of sorts, because everyone played it. My dad, mom, brother and sister. and me. As a kid I could hardly read in my national language and English was out of the window, so my mom and dad drew a huge map of the game, every location with paths leading into others. Every house was marked with Pink, Orange and Green color indicating what kind of a teacher there was (Green = Expert, Orange = Master and in later games pink = Grand Master) And a list of every stat - what it does, every potion and how do you make them. like it was a handmade guide for me and my brother and sister by them. Gothic games were mainly played by me and my dad where I was later on teaching my dad all sorts of bugs and exploits and once we both finished the first game, I made a somewhat handmade guide for my dad for the second game. It had a map with important NPCs marked, hidden treasures and whatnot. Commandos I clearly remember one instance where I was really ill. I had almost 40C fevers, but I wanted to look at my dad playing Commandos so I would know what other missions are ahead of me. I was lying down on the couch looking at my dad playing as my mom shouted the food is ready. To anyone who played Commandos 1 you probably know that if the German soldiers found you, they started yelling ALARM, ALARM. As my mom shouted my dad would go to eat, he was so damn focused on the game he ignored her, so she came behind him, with a wooden spool slapped the back of the chair and yelled ALARM ALARM at him, making me laugh my ass off only to start coughing that I almost choked to death. And oh my dear Desperados. For my dad it was really hard game, my sister didn't like western movies/games/books and my mom was rather playing RPGs instead of RTS games. So when me and my brother started playing Desperados our dad came to us saying something like I bet, I will finish this game faster then you two starting a war he couldn't win. After all we were kids with tons of time on our hands, but our dad was playing dirty. Every time he went to work or somewhere else, he took the cable from the PC with him. So what we ended up doing was borrowing one from our neighbours and returned it minutes before he got back home. The war was going on for weeks, when finally me and my brother got to the final boss. We just found the final boss impossible to beat, we tried everything. but we just couldn't beat him. We tried for days scared of the moment when our dad comes to as saying I finished the game So we looked where his last save was. He was at the final boss too. and one day when we were having a lunch together, we asked him how's the Desperados game going. He just looked at us and said This game is bullshit, you can't beat the final guy, it's just impossible so me and my brother looked at each other shaking our heads with agreement and later that day, me, my brother and dad all together tried to beat him. I don't know WHO did it, but I know it wasn't me since I was sitting on the couch. but we finished the game. The celebrations. my mom even came to the living room asking why are we yelling so much that it was almost 10PM. Ahhh. these memories I treasure in my heart. My mom to this day plays Might & Magic 6-8 over and over again trying different classes (Like finishing the game with whole party being Knights or Druids, etc.) and Age of Empires 2. My dad plays every weekend those Hunting games where he bought all kinds of DLC's so he could hunt everything. And me and my sister used to play Runescape together everyday. but hey, nowdays it's all work, work, work and sometimes sleep leaving none of us having time to play all day like we used to. My dad is after a surgery right now and every two days I check up on him, he asked me if I still have those CD's with Gothic 1 & 2 he bought back in the day and of course I have them, so he will play through those games once again. Sadly the map I drew we couldn't find, but we found a Might & Magic one which lead my mom to install M&M 6 again. Now I don't wanna sound like a asshole, but having parents that didn't always yelled at me for playing games was such a awesome part of my childhood. Of course I was going outside and played there. I was more outside then playing on our computer since one it wasn't something I needed to treasure every minute of, I wasn't THAT much interested. Hijinks ensue with her friends at the mexico hotel. There she happens to meet Sean, the blind date guy. Eventually she lets Sean in on the plan and Sean ends up becoming a friend in the effort and. maybe more. That is the best part as these two people just kind of are forced together in very platonic circumstances and become friends.
I do not agree with any of the comments about the kid or even the dolphin. They are meant to be bawdy comedy. The naked gun for example has a similar joke. The fact that the press and a lot of the reviews here rail against this move to me, says that comedy is dead.
